KATHRYN CHIRDON

LAW CLERK

Kathryn Chirdon is a current JD candidate at Wayne State University with a diverse background in education and a passion for the legal field. Kathryn brings a unique perspective shaped by her experiences as both a former special education teacher and a lifelong resident of the Detroit area. Kathryn's time in the classroom allowed her to develop strong communication skills, empathy, and a deep understanding of the importance of advocating for marginalized communities.

For her college education, Kathryn ventured out to Central Pennsylvania to continue her tennis career as a Division 1 athlete. At Saint Francis University, she pursued a multidisciplinary course of study, graduating with a degree in English Literature while also earning certifications in Secondary Education and Special Education. This diverse academic background equipped her with a broad range of skills, from critical analysis and writing to instructional design and individualized student support.

Kathryn's journey from teaching to law reflects her commitment to advocating for justice and equity, particularly for those who are underserved or underrepresented. Kathryn's blend of educational expertise and legal insight prepares her to work with students and families to protect their rights.

Outside of work Kathryn enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time in Northern Michigan with her husband and their pets.
