Recent Representative Juvenile Cases*

  • Successfully argued for a juvenile criminal matter to be handled via Juvenile Rule 29(F)(2)(C) hold open.

  • Successfully argued for a 13-year-old's criminal file to be sealed a year and a half after the disposition of his M1 adjudication. Set expectations for how the hearing would be handled, helped client feel comfortable (even getting permission from the Judge to allow him to wear his special hat and have fidgets in court) and advocated strongly on his behalf.

  • Avoided truancy charges for both parents and disabled student after student’s severe social anxiety and depression led to multiple hospitalizations and absences from school.

  • Secured dismissal of a juvenile defendant’s misdemeanor charges in juvenile court allowing him to retain a clean record.

  • Represented client in juvenile court and successfully argued a Motion for a Competency Evaluation, due to the client’s age (9 y/o) and disabilities (ADHA, Autism, ODD).

  • Obtained a reduction in charge from an F3 to an M4 for a juvenile client. Worked with judge, probation officer and prosecutor to help the client put the incident behind him and focus on providing supports to prevent future delinquency.

  • Successfully negotiated a reasonable plea deal for a juvenile facing several felony charges.

  • Appeared at an absence intervention team meeting on behalf of a high school student and helped create and implement an absence intervention plan for a student with disabilities.

  • Secured the dismissal of a juvenile defendant’s misdemeanor charges in juvenile court allowing him to retain a clean record.

  • Assisted a client in avoiding truancy charges and facilitated better communication between the client and the school administration to avoid further risk of truancy.

  • Successfully negotiated an informal adjustment for a juvenile facing charges of possession of marijuana on school property with intent to distribute, thereby enabling juvenile to avoid a criminal record.

  • Successfully negotiated with juvenile probation and county prosecutor for client charged with possession of narcotics on school property to be admitted to PA pre-trial diversion program for juveniles.

  • Successfully obtained a juvenile diversion for a student facing assault charges following an altercation with another student at school.
